A lot of wonderful hearty stews, delicious pasta dishes, fantastic soups, and lots of very simply prepared brilliant, fresh foods and antipastos.
Italian food is simple, vibrant, delicate, subtle and delicious. In Italy the most important thing is the quality of the ingredients. High quality ingredients are used and the result is better than what you may find in supermarkets or restaurants. True authentic Italian recipes are those that have been passed on from past generations. Italian food is about having people enjoy what you cook, it’s about variety and incredibly fresh ingredients. However, you haven’t tasted real Italian food until you eat it in Italy!
Certain herbs are used time and time again in Italian cooking. The more popular herbs and spices include Sage, Basil, Thyme, Parsley, and Oregano. They give Italian dishes such as the famous Italian pizza their distinctive flavour and aroma.These herbs along with spices are what make a good dish great, and without these ingredients you can bet that your recipe will simply fall flat. It makes it easier to cook Italian foods especially if you have and make use of Italian seasoning. The Italian seasoning is a combination of herbs like, thyme, sage, basil, rosemary, oregano, savory etc.
You can also include coriander and red pepper flakes. Long established, cooking Italian foods relies on this type of mixture and these days the mixture is used in making a wide variety of foods, not just the traditional Italian kind. Knowing how to keep fresh herbs is actually key to a successful kitchen, and if you know what you are doing you can have herbs to last quite a few recipes with one shopping trip. Herbs are ideally used fresh. If you don’t have the space (or the sun), then why not try growing herbs indoors on a sunny windowsill.

However, it’s always useful to have a supply of dried herbs for emergencies. Herbs are the best way to infuse your food with flavour.
Other things that Italy is famous for is a whole range of healthy Italian cooking including pasta, pizza, bread (ciabatta, pitta) and its more luxurious and delicious cakes and biscuits (tiramisu, amaretti, pannetone).
Pasta, however has to be Italy’s greatest supplement to world dishes. Italian food is all about combinations of delicious local flavours, a simple sauce, a sprinkling of parmesan and of course real Italian pasta. Today pasta is known as the flavour of the Italians. Most Italians cook pasta in the same way it has been for generations using the recipes that have been passed down from relative to relative.
In order to have the best pasta experience, one must travel to Italy and taste the pasta, to experience the true italian aroma. Italian food is known today as one of the debut cuisines in the world, famous for exquisite meals filled with different ingredients such as olives, balsamic vinegar and pesto.
Italian food is simple, vibrant and good for you. Italian food is not just for Italians, but for everyone! Besides Italian cuisine, tasty recipes from around the world are a great exploration for the palate and include some rather exotic ingredients.

The first date my wife and I had nearly 20 years ago now was a lovely seafood restaurant in Napoli, so I’ve been spending ages trying to rediscover a decent grilled lobster recipe like we had that night – our anniversary is next month so I’m hoping to surprise her!
Man, my grandmomma was Italian and she made the most amazing meatballs I ever tasted, like you wouldnt believe. Sadly, she didnt leave a recipe for me so I’ve been trying to work it out by myself… slowly working my through the meatball recipes here, I still cant figure out what her secret ingredient was though!!!

herbs and spices are great additions for your foods and pastry,i’ve been using them for several years ~,`
get a pound or 2 of chicken strips ,boil them in chicken broth when done boiling pull strips and cut into small pieces add them back to the broth then add extra wide noodles to the broth and continue to boil . taste broth, if not enough chicken flavor add chicken bullion to taste salt and pepper and when noodles are done enjoy.
U-uh…It looks delicious. Personally I’m not a vegan , but I always appreciate a good skill from a chef who made the food with all his or her heart
